What types of weddings do you work on?
We work on all kinds of wedding and events, whether Religious, Civil, Same-sex/ LGBTQ Weddings and Events, Symbolic, or any other. We don't discriminate.

IS YOUR COMPANY INSURED?
Yes, we are! We know how important this is for any business, especially in this industry. More and more venues and professionals are requiring proof of business liability insurance and we can easily provide that those that need it.
DO YOU CATER TO ALL RELIGIONS?
We do cater to all religions. At One Fine Day Events, our mission is to help you with your celebration, the registrar/officiant, and the paperwork required to fulfill your religious wedding in Virginia or beyond.
CAN WE schedule A CONSULTATION WITH YOu to know you are the right fit?
Yes, yes, and yes! It is extremely important to us that we both know and feel that we are the right fit for each other. We want you to feel confident and secure in your decision that you have the right planner on your team. We do require all potential clients to have a brief 30-minute consultation with us so that we can learn a little more about you, your background, and your overall vision for the big day. This helps us know what services to tailor specifically to your needs. All of our consultations are done virtually (via Zoom or Google Meet) to allow for all decision makers to be present. Our consultations are highly interactive, so feel free to ask any questions, without ever feeling the pressure to book with us on the spot. We want to be confident in your decision to choose One Fine Day Events for your big day!
WHY SHOULD WE HIRE A WEDDING & Event PLANNER?
When you embark on your wedding planning journey, having a wedding planner is crucial. Every detail will be taken into account by your planning team, allowing you to focus on the engagement and each other. A wedding takes, on average, around 250 hours of preparation! When the planning starts, most couples are overwhelmed, drowning in details. Let us take over and handle every step of the process from A to Z.

My VENUE COMEs WITH A COORDINATOR, DO WE STILL NEED A WEDDING PLANNER?
Simply out, venue coordinators work for the venue. That is where their priorities and loyalties lie and their focus will go as needed throughout the day. All of the other detailed aspects of your wedding, along with vendor management, they are not responsible for. A dedicated wedding planner will ensure that all of the details that have been so meticulously planned are fully executed as designed. A planner will not only help you create your timeline for the day, but be onsite and responsible for executing it as prescribed. A planner's priority and loyalty lies with the couple getting married to ensure their day flows seamlessly and they are able to fully enjoy their day and never have to lift a finger or make any decisions.
WHERE DO YOU PLAN WEDDINGS?
One Fine Day Events has been working on weddings and cultivated events for years in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. That being said, there is no place we wouldn’t follow our clients to make their vision a reality.
IS THERE A MINIMUM BUDGET REQUIRED FOR THE WEDDINGS AND EVENTS YOU WORK ON?
No. From intimate elopements to huge celebrations and small corporate luncheons to large corporate events and retreats, we are a top wedding and event planning firm that specializes in all types of events. We know that this may not be something you are familiar with so we are here to help educate you on best practices and typical expenses you will come across. There are limits to how cost-effective we can make things, but we will always strive to make them as cost-effective as possible for you. Our team will notify you if something isn't possible at your preferred price point and offer alternative and suitable alternatives instead. Let's chat and see how we can be of service.
DO YOU WORK WITH SPECIFIC VENUES / CONTRACTORS / VENDORS?
No is the simple response. We are willing to listen if you're looking for a location that isn't on our suggested vendor list, or if you have a suggested vendor in mind. Remember, this is YOUR day and YOUR vision. Our suggested venues and vendors/suppliers have all been tried and proven, which is a benefit when working with them. We only recommend them with the utmost confidence in their level of service and professionalism. We are, however, always eager to collaborate with new venues and businesses as long as our customers are satisfied with their choice.
WHAT ADDITIONAL TYPES OF EVENTS DO YOU SERVICE?
Although the majority of our year is spent on weddings, we also work with Corporate events, such as retreats, luncheons, holiday parties, and more, as well as nonprofits and fundraisers. We also have availability, although limited, to plan those milestone events such a Quinceanera's, Sweet 16's and retirements each year.
HOW MUCH COMMUNICATION WILL WE RECEIVE?
This is dependent upon the level of service you hire us for, however, we will do regular check-ins, at a minimum, with all of our clients. We aim to respond to all emails within 2-3 business days. All phone calls and meetings are scheduled in advance so we have the time to focus solely on your event.
WILL YOU BE PRESENT ON MY WEDDING DAY?
Absolutely, after months of preparation, we want to be there on the day, not just to witness the beauty of everything come together but also to make sure you can settle in and have a wonderful time, knowing that we are ready to assist should anything go wrong. Your assigned lead wedding planner, together with at least one assistant, will personally attend your wedding.
WE WOULD LIKE TO HOST PRE/POST WEDDING EVENTs, CAN YOU HELP?
Absolutely, and we have a blast doing this. A pre/post wedding event is something we always recommend; a relaxed morning after brunch, poolside BBQ, elegant cocktail style Welcome Party, or authentic wine tasting afternoon are just some of our suggestions. The joy of a wedding is that your guests come to celebrate with you for more than a day. Our services may also be customized to fit your wedding at home if you desire to host a pre/post wedding event.
DO YOU CHARGE AN HOURLY RATE, A FLAT RATE OR A PERCENTAGE OF OUR OVERALL WEDDING BUDGET? AND DO YOU HAVE A RETAINER FEE TO SECURE YOUR WEDDING PLANNING SERVICE?
For our customized wedding planning services, we operate off a flat fee. The only additions you would see are if you opt to request additional services. To secure our wedding planning and design services, a 25% non-refundable retainer fee is required. From there your payments are broken into monthly payments with the final payment due 30 days prior to your event date.
HOW MANY ASSISTANTS WILL ATTEND ON MY WEDDING DAY?
Depending on the size of your event, our wedding planner and at least one assistant will be there. More assistants will be brought if you have multiple sites or if your guests are bigger for an additional fee.
DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE MEALS TO THE WEDDING PLANNING TEAM?
The planner meal at the reception is much welcomed since a wedding might easily stretch over 10-12, and even 14 hours. So this break is necessary for our team. We will be sure to confirm the number of staff you have contracted for the wedding day prior to your final catering numbers being due. We, on the other hand, are there for professional reasons and have a strict no alcohol policy for our team.
DO YOU DRESS UP FOR A WEDDING?
In terms of your event's dress code, all wedding planners and helpers typically will be wearing all black and dressed professionally for your wedding day. We do wear more comfortable shoes as we are constantly moving around and on our feet most of the day, however, these will always be clean and professional as well.
